Life presents a variety of complex challenges that we face each day.  Psychotherapy can serve as an entry point to finding our inner sanctuary of calm and wisdom in the midst of difficulty.

I am a very open-minded person, able to relate to and empathize with a variety of experiences.  I will work with you in a sensitive, supportive, non-judgmental, collaborative and confidential way.  I try to foster an attitude of curiosity and compassion about oneself and others, and deep respect and empathy for life’s challenges and the efforts we make to face them.  My goal is to create a trusting relationship which will enable you to acquire insight into patterns of behavior that may not be effective, while strengthening behaviors which are productive in your life.

I view the therapeutic relationship as a joint journey into self-exploration, which can give you the opportunity for insight and empower you with the necessary tools to evolve, bring about change and achieve goals.

Whether you are looking for relief from painful confusion, sadness, or worry, or are just looking for more meaningful relationships and life experiences, I welcome you on this journey towards personal growth.

As is your desire, so is your will.
As is your will, so is your deed.
As is your deed,
So is your destiny.
-The Upanishads

Trying to make sense of ourselves, others and our environment can often mean experiencing difficult feelings and navigating through scenarios that trigger and overwhelm us.  My approach to counseling is practical, strength based and it is important that you feel heard, understood and walk away with a greater understanding of your experience.  I can assist you in developing skills for effective and open communication, building a stronger more positive self-image, managing intense emotional and physical sensations, finding the source of unwanted behavioral patterns and developing a stronger sense of balance and purpose.
